■  Nestérov: Toponymes

Les toponymes actuels du Raïon de Niestérov, en russe Нестеровский район, en Oblast de Kaliningrad, furent décrétés en 1946 par décret du Présidium du Soviet Suprême de l'URSS. Il est aisé de comprendre ces toponymes tous d'origine slave et liés aux idéaux de l'immédiate après-guerre dans un pays ayant vu ses populations exterminées par les allemands.

Après sa prise de pouvoir, le gouvernement allemand - nazi, réforma toute la toponymie des lieux pour imposer des toponymes germaniques et éliminer la toponymie de type prussienne ou à connotation non germanique.

La colonisation de ce territoire par les allemands, fit disparaître la toponymie borusse - aussi appelée pruthène ou prussienne ; les peuples prussiens étaient slaves.

⌘ Étymologies et toponymes

Nestérov - Нестеров porte ce nom depuis le 7 septembre 1946 par décret du Présidium du Soviet Suprême de la RSFSR. Ce toponyme fut donné en mémoire et honneur de Stepan Kuzmitch Nesterov, colonel de la Garde, tué d'une balle allemande le 20 octobre 1944 dans l'actuel village d'Ilyinskoye.

Le village primitif - une colonie allemande, ne comptait que 9 foyers et nous apparaît avec son toponyme en 1539 sous la forme Stallupönen, toponyme d'origne borusse semblant signifier menhirs au bord de l'eau ; soit un lieu de culte préchrétien. Il est amusant de citer la signification Stallupönen = lait sur la table attribuée à Guillaume I° par un certain taquin Adolf Bach.

En 1938, Berlin l'Allemagne, germanisant tous les toponymes non germaniques, renommera la ville Ebenrode ; bien que rejeté et non utilisé par les habitants, ce toponyme restera officiel jusqu'en 1946.
