Cette variété fut sélectionnée vers 1935 par des sélectionneurs russes. L'objectif principal de leurs travaux fut de créer un pommier destiné à être cultivé à l'échelle industrielle. Cette variété, grâce à ses qualités, est maitnenant cultivée non seulement dans des exploitations agricoles mais aussi dans les jardins privés.

Le fruit

De forme arrondie, rappelant un abricot, le fruit fait approximativement 150 grammes. Aigre-doux, blanc de pulpe, il est juteux à point
La chair

Sa chair est légèrement acidulée, un peu aigre-douce, agréable pour réaliser des compotes ou salades de fruits
L'arbre

Ces pommiers ne sont pas particulièrement hauts et dépassent rarement 3 mètres. La couronne est large, sphérique et dense, aux branches épaisses et allongées, de couleur brune. Les feuilles, de taille moyenne, brun foncées, présentent une partie arrière proéminente. Sur les côtés, le limbe de la feuille s'enroule vers l'intérieur. Les bourgeons sont gros et vert foncé. La floraison est toujours abondante, les fleurs sont rose vif, très parfumées. L'arbre résiste jusqu'à -40°C et, de grande rusticité, résiste bien aux maladies et ravageurs

Comptez approximativement 60 kg par arbre ; la production commence vers 3 ans après greffon
