◎ Un jour d'automne

Entre deux collines sauvages,
Je suivais le bord d'un étier ;
Les chênes perdaient leurs feuillages,
Les fruits tombaient de l'alizier.

Le ciel grisâtre de l'automne
Se réfléchissait dans les eaux ;
La bise froide et monotone
Courbait la tige des roseaux.

Un marinier dans sa nacelle
Passa vers le déclin du jour ;
Il chantait la beauté fidèle,
La saison des fleurs et l'amour.

Mais les alouettes marines,
Fuyant au détour de l'étier,
Avec les échos des collines,
Riaient des chants du marinier.
