^{Route 234 - de BRIANÇON à ABRIÈS - Par le col de l'Izoard - 6h25 de marche environ - 12km - 3h50 à la montée du col - 2h à 3h jusqu'à Château-Queyras - Route de chars de Briançon à Cervières. De Cervières à Château-Queyras, chemin de mulets très fréquents. Un guide n'est pas nécéssaire - on peut trouver des vivres et un lit à l'hospice du col.}
- Arvieux est un beau village situé à 4,5 lieues de Briançon. La population s'élève à 965 habitants. Arvieux est bien bâti et traversé par une rue assez grande, propre et bien percée. Catinât occupa en 1692, sur le territoire d'Arvieux, le camp de Roux, auquel il a donné son nom, et qui communique avec celui de Tournoux par un chemin fait en 1710.
Arvieux fabrique des bas de laine à l'aiguille et compte aussi des tanneries.
