Natif de Saint-Omer, Tanguy Malmanche, de son vrai nom, donc nom breton, Tanneguy Malmanche, est un écrivain breton ayant écrit dans cette langue ainsi qu'en langue française. Son enfance partagée entre Brest et Plabennec influencera fortement son oeuvre, dont un couple de meuniers, Urien Coant et Marie Rous. Rennes le verra suivre des études de Droit, puis Paris une licence de Liettres. Breton, il est appelé au service militaire à Brest puis, après avoir exercé divers métiers, s'intalle comme artisan à Courbevoie. Il meurt le 20 mars 1953 à Clichy et est enterré à Dives-sur-Mer.

L'œuvre littéraire de Tanguy Malmanche mélange rève et réalité, monde réel et monde fantastique si riche en Bretagne. Ses pièces en langue bretonne sont d'une grande saveur que ne peuvent complètement transmettre les traductions françaises proposées.
