La Sélengé - ou Selenga en russe, est la principale rivière de Mongolie.

Prenant source dans les monts du Khangaï - s'appellant alors Ider, elle devient Sélengé lors de sa confluence avec le Delgermörön et la Tchuluut. Après traversé de la Mongolie, ayant reçu l'affluence des eaux de l'Orkhon, traversé la Bouriatie - en Russie, offrant un superbe delta, elle se jette dans les eaux du lac Baïkal - qui via l'Angara, alimentera le fleuve Inésseï se jetant en Mer de Kara.

Recevant une trentaine d'affluents, la Sélengé - ou Selenga, longue de 1.024 km dont 409 en Russie, draine un bassin versant de 447.060 km².

Si cours se déroule majoritairement en terrains plains, elle voit néanmoins quelques gorges et défilés peu profonds.

⌘ Martynov Andreï Éfimovitch : La rivière Sélengé en Bouriatie

⤇ Martynov, Andreï Éfimovitch, en russe Мартынов, Андрей Ефимович en russe, est né à Saint-Pétersbourg le 2 juillet 1768 pour décéder à Rome le 1° novembre 1826.

Ayant étudié à l'Académie Impériale des Beaux-Arts, trois fois médaillé par cette Académie - Petite Médaille Argent, Grande Médaille d'Argent puis Petite Médaille d'Or, diplomé de cette Académie, pensionné de cette Académie, il part à l'étranger puis recevra le titre d'Académicien.

Son voyage en Sibérie et Chine voient peintures à l'huile, gouaches et aquarelles dont nombreux paysages comme ces paysages sibériens. Ces Rives de la Sélengé sont un de ses tableaux.
