Abry Joseph est né à Ruffieu le 24-07-1893.

Il mesurait 1.74 mètre, avait les cheveux et sourcils châtains foncés, les yeux marron foncés, le front fuyant, le nez busqué, le menton non défini et le visage ovale. Joseph savait lire et écrire.

Il décèdera le 27-01-1915 à Ban-de-Sapt ; il avait 22 ans.

Mort pour la France en 1914-1918, disparu, il était soldat de 2° classe au 23° Régiment d'Infanterie.

Lors de son incorporation militaire, il était boucher.

  • 27-01-1915 => Disparu à la Fontenelle, Ban-de-Sapt, Vosges, inhumé par le soin des autorités allemandes à Laitré
  • Citation à l'ordre de la 41° Divison => S'est offert spontanément en plusieurs cisconstances pour rechercher les corps de camarades tombés en avant des tranchées. Blessé en août 1914, s'est le 27 janvier, élancé en tête de son peloton entraînant ses camarades sur la tranchée devant laquelle il est tombé
  • Décoration => Croix de Guerre avec Étoile d'Argent
