⌘ Étymologies et toponymes

Andert-et-Condon est née de la réunion des paroisses d'Andert et de Condon. Cette réunion des paroisses ne se fera pas lors de la création des communes le 14 décembre 1789 comme presque partout en France mais, dès 1645, par la réunion des paroisses d'Andert et de celle de Condon dont l'église ne deviendra que simple annexe de la nouvelle paroisse.

Andert est attestée, dès 861, suite à donation, par l'Empereur Lothaire, de terres à Rémy, archevêque de Lyon. Ce toponyme se retrouve sous une forme latine Anderno.

Ce toponyme dériverait de l'anthroponyme gaulois Andern ou d'un anthroponyme germanique Andert.
